Hi all, so I found these items near a mid 1800s home in the woods. They are made of lead and have tapered hole all the way thru approx 1/2” at widest down to 3/8” or so and total height is about 1-1/2” overall. They look like they were poured in the dirt as you can see the outer surfaces are very crude and rough. Any info is appreciated thanks

Quite irregular in shape. Possibly homemade weights for a fishing seine (?). They look too small for decoy weights. Good luck

Soldiers poured lead in all kinds of holes when they were bored, ant beds, crawdad holes, etc.

That’s interesting. I would have thought lead to be a guarded commodity for soldiers, like gunpowder.
