In the fishes mouth LOL
=============================================================
;D :help: Moe, the hook would have had the shank embedded in the lead with the hook end
or barb nestled in the horse hair.

Yeppers; be sure to do some research on it because some of the older ones, especially from the 50s are bringing in some $$$. Breezie

The shaft of the hook would be coming out of the bottom of the lead in the middle of the bucktail. The lead would have been painted too. Yours looks homemade. Is there any evicence of rust coming out of the bottom or around the top anywhere or is there a hole through the lead? Could be a sliding jig head used in trolling.

Thanks for the replies.

Have attached a new photo below. There is a little bit of rust where hook may have been.
