Still learning my Garrett 2500 and decided to take a quick few passes at the local junior high school track, there was tons of trash every so many inches, set the machine to "discriminate coins" and got a pretty good "B" signal at 3 inches....was quite surprised when this popped out, a 1989 Belize 5 cent piece! I'm thinking it had been there a long time and I cant stop thinking what the odds are of finding this in Washington, the poor little nickel had been lost many miles from home for a long time before seeing day light again, my wife imagines someone at a track meet discovering it in their pocket as change they got, then when they discovered it simply tossed it since they couldn't spend it,regardless how it got there, and even though theres no real value to it I'm smiling from ear to ear......thanks for looking!

I was surprised too on the 1989 date. Looks older...

Congrats

Congrats on your find.
It may have come across the Canadian border.
I'm hearing that a wall is going to be built.
That'll keep these coins from migrating.
