Hello I am new to the forum, I recently purchased a box containing a collection of various owl figurines most made of wood, ceramic and brass. But one of these pieces is quite interesting I cannot determine what type of metal it is crafted in, It measures 7.5 cm tall and 5 cm in width it weighs approximately 263.5 grams. The odd thing about it is it has a crude date and name possibly carved in the bottom of the fiqure I can make out 1694 and what looks like a name I cannot make out. I have put an Ice Cube against the surface and it dissolved quite rapidly I have no access to a chemical testing kit at the moment and am hoping I can possibly learn more about this object from the expertise of the treasurenet members, thanks for your help looking forward to reading any ideas of origin, metal type, text etc.

I am having trouble finding out how to upload the pics I have taken I will post photo bucket links momentarily
