I have no idea what this is.

It measures 4" from tip to end (accounting for the damage).

The uncapped, threaded end has a 1.5" inner diameter and a 2" outer diameter.

The cap is 2.1" in diameter.

The middle hole is threaded, has an inner diameter of 1.5" and opens to a bulbous section.

Pretty sure it's brass, may have chrome plating. Could this be off an old car?
 

After seeing some pics I agree it's definitively similar, and explains the inner threads on the bulb part. Looks like Model T carried this sort of style, so 1909-27, which fits in my date range. Thanks!
