Went for a quick look around the yard after a storm blew through. Found this. Iā€™d normally call it a waste flake, like a small core, which Iā€™ve found before. But what is odd is all the flaking on the bit that is usually flat. Thereā€™s no fine edge work. Iā€™m Trying to sort it out, what were they going for with this, any opinions are welcome.

I just found something similar. (no picture yet) Notice the peak in the first picture that has 4 sides to it. And the backside has that chatter on it. I would like some flint knappers to chime in on what happened.
 

Thatā€™s interesting you found one too, seems like itā€™s either a tool or a leftover from a specific knapping process/technique.
