Folks,
October has been really, really good to me. So I'm not fussing at all when I report that this week's four boxes were all skunks. This is the fourth time this year that has happened, the last time was mid-July. So the following is simply my skunk tale.
In this hobby we all hit good streaks and eventually wee all hit the bust weeks. In my experiences the busts usually come after some period of tappering off. Last week was hot for me, 67 silver keepers! So I was surprised that the streak came to such a sudden and conclusive end. In true CRH fashion, next week I'll be back at it, pulling those boxes and hoping to get back in the vein.
Even with a silver skunk, I found a couple of oddities to hold on to. The standard beat-up clad proof -- this time 1972; a bicentennial with the word "Pensacola" nicely engraved on the Obverse; and a possible error coin with a "divot" pressed in the Obverse between Kennedy's face and ear. It could be post mint damage, but the impression does not carry to the Reverse and the divot doesn't show unusual wear. Into flips these will go, and I'll take them to a coin show or two to use in trade for AG.
Pics follow. Have a great week and happy hunting.
RIP Rich!
