I voted coins because there was no pulltab/foil category. I dug three coins today, flatware came in at second with two pieces, a spoon and a fork.

Wish they had plastic sporks back then.

Nice score with the silver dime! I didn't hear anyone chime in with silver scores other than Goio. I don't mean to sound ignorant, but which one were you at the hunt??

Joe

The goofy looking gray hair old guy with the small motor home

THANKX FOR THE GRUP GUYS

ALL THAT FOOD WAS OVER THE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah yes, the shaggin' wagon. Glad to hear you got silver!

Joe

It was a tie between coins and flatware for me, but I went with the flatware. :tongue3:

Great job on that silver dime!!!

I scored on 193?'s wheatie, one butter knife,1 boy scout knife, and two different Hobo camp spills with about 20 coins between the two all modern clad on or near the surface.

we gotta start saving that cookware and see if we can put all of it in for a raffle next time

Here's the BS pocketknife I found at the hunt.

Tim obviously the last thing that knife did was open a Grape Crush bottle while some kids were hanging around the fire pit.

Lowbatts, I would have opened my beer with that knife! Anytime ;-)

I voted coins because I found 6 of those and only one knife and one spoon.

I found 2 forks a spoon and a butter knife, laying on the ground. I didn't get a decent coin signal even once in the camp so I didn't do much digging. :-[ Atleast the butter knife came in handy for scraping the burrs off.

Hey I'm a bit late posting this - but hey, I was a bit late getting to lunch during the hunt too and that actually worked out for the better seeing as how Lucky Joe won that detector donated by Ron Shore of Windy City Detectors. That's amazing we have a local dealer willing to support our group in such a way. Thanks again to Ron!
I won a much needed new set of headphones - awesome!

OK on to my finds - I didn't get any coins and I'm not sure I ever found the actual scout camp but I did have fun and as we all know THE FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE too! Thanks to the cooks and people who brought stuff I was able to bring home the hot dogs and hamburgers and Brats I brought just in case. The Belgian Beer I brought (Tripel Karmeliet) seemed to be enjoyed by those who tasted it.

Oh yeah - the finds - I think I should win the award for largest nail found, and largest knife found.
There was an award for that right? I just wonder what deviate scout actually used that knife, and what was being done with it when the blade broke off... This was probably after drinking the bottle of Old Crow and sniffing the tube of Testors airplane glue. And then shooting at something with teflon coated bullets.

And hey Lobatts thanks again for being the designated driver, and for making the trip back to my house when I realized I didn't put the battery in my detector - DOH! It was Lowbatts and NOBATTS.
