✅ SOLVED Octagon shaped frame?

I dug this yesterday afternoon and it looks like it could have framed something as you will see in my pictures. It's probably the size of a half dollar and looks to be pretty sturdy brass. I thought at first the writing in the quadrons could be a foreign language but in looking at it I think it's just designs.
