Does anyone have a clue as to what these were used for. I can tell you I have found several of these in multiple locations where old structures once stood. They seem to be copper, octagon shaped and bent at 90 degrees. I first assumed some sort of roofing nail but it is blunt at the end. It has been suggested maybe a wic holder of some sort but the fact I find these often suggests otherwise. Any clues? Google just isn't cutting it. Identity might could help date a site. Thanks.
