Oceanside beach detecting?? anyone know the rules?

I have no hunted oceanside, but as far as I know, all public annd state beaches are fair game. you do need to be careful hunting areas not considered "beach".

Thank you Don and Dknight,

Appreciate the reply..I will use some good sense out there, it's my first Beach attempt, so It will be fun.
thanks again and I'll post if i hit something good!

If you can, hit the pier area at low tide for the obvious reason. Restaurant at the end of the pier ("back in the day" 50s style) is a good place to eat a midday burger, etc. Close locals and nearby residents seem to migrate to the north of the pier (no close parking); tourist types and not so close locals use the south side of the pier beach (closer to parking). MD-ers pound both areas.
Don.......

Thanks Don,

we are staying at the wyndham across from the pier(I should have looked at the reviews prior, evidently amtrak runs every 15 minutes or so and is loud) lol...so we'll see..
It will be a nice get away I am sure.
I will definetly take your advice..
Between Pier fishing, eating, detecting and catching a few rays of sun, I'll try and NOT let the train noise deter from a good time.

thanks and I'll keep ya posted !!
