It was an epic hunt. My girlfriend and I got out today to do some rock hounding. Some of our finds were absolutely amazing. My girlfriend found the most beautiful piece of opalized wood. My best find was the obsidian point.

yea thats some pretty stuff there

You are right very pretty material looks like you guys found a lot of stuff including some worked pieces. Nice finds today. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting material! Just wondering, but where is the obsidian point? I see a piece of obsidian that has been worked and looks similar to a gouge.

The first two pics are obsidian... It just looked as if it could be used as a projectile. Most of the pieces have all been worked.

Here's the rest of the finds plus another shot of the obsidian. Some of the best pieces weren't photogenic so I just posted a few that looked good. I'll try to get some shots in the sun and post more pics.

It may just be a large reduction flake or possibly another tool called a scraper. I se a lot of worked cool stuff in there.

welcome to tnet
nice to see several new members coming aboard this last week or so
that is some colorful material

Check out what my girl found last week at the same site. Also a labradorite wrap I made for her. I figure you guys can appreciate that too.

Pic #1 is a worked reduction flake. #9 looks to be worked but I would have to see a better pic of it and the last pic under your necklace looks like a worked item also maybe a point. All 3 look good as artifacts JMO. I enjoy rocks as I do collect them also. I keep the nicer ones I find where I find artifacts at. I figure the Indians probably carried them to their camps. Thanks for the look.

Nice finds and lots of great pics!
