Obelisk

How tall? If it is less than a meter tall and made of stone, than it is almost certainly an old property marker, or a horse hitching post. Good luck, I hope you find something good there. If it is a horse hitching post, it may have a metal ring on it, an house house may have also been nearby in that case. Also, old properties were typically on the corner of a property. My house and many of the old houses in my area were built in the far left corner, or top right corner of their lots, though I assume that they could be in any corner. I hope I was of some help, if it is bigger I have no clue what it could be though, maybe a treasure marker for all I know!

Has anyone seen a short obelisk at a site? KGC, Spanish, KT,etc

And even if they/we did see obelisks at any particular site, could it be that it's random , and means nothing in particular (in-so-far treasure) ? For example: Coinman gives a good example of how that shape was fashionable, at one time, for corner posts on stonework fences or hitching posts, etc......

We have "obelisks" everywhere around me. Very common property markers, and as such were meant to be highly visible. Why the @#% would someone hide a treasure and put a giant beacon over it?

A voice of common sense logic. I mean... duh... someone who "hides " something is trying to (drum roll...) HIDE it. Right ?

Prospectors at Oak Island have published a photo eerily similar

Stone face

IMG_0797.JPGFirst time post of this pic!!

My bad... pics need rotating

I've been in the woods too long. Lol

hxbuff, I am seeing nothing but random shapes. And even if symmetrical, and even if man-made, ...... ok, and you think this could mean "treasure" ? And any reference to Oak Island (similar objects, or hints-of-treasure) is to most certainly distance your object from treasure.

If you (or any of the Oak Island faithful) lie on their backs and stare at the passing clouds, you can find shapes of bunnies, triangles, clown face, the big dipper, etc..... So too am I not seeing anything in your pix. You can stand blind-folded and throw a rock in any direction. And you will no doubt hit something un-canny shaped, or man-made shapes . And do not necessarily mean "treasure".

I've been in the woods too long also, don't feel bad. Stone obelisks are common around here, and are especially used a township boundary markers.

And the "Obelisk" in his pix on #7 post, appears to just be an odd shaped rock. Not an obelisk.

Thanks for the comments. I certainly have a lot to learn.
