Found this on a recent school yard hunt. I assume its some sort of foreign coin? arabcoin 003.jpgarabcoin 001.jpgarabcoin 002.jpg

My son returned from the Middle East with similar looking coins. Might be silver

It does look Arabic to me compared to what I know to be Arabic. Maybe someone can read what's on the coin ?

Hope that helps.

Interesting find. My guess its probably a coin or token from the middle east with the arabic writing . Maybe if you know of a vetran or soilder who served in Iraq that might could figure out the jibberish LOL:icon_scratch:

Not shure what kind of metal it is. Its very thin, kinda looks like its got copper in it. The hole appears to be punched through not drilled

Neat find! But something about it didn't look right to me... I searched: Replica Ottoman Coin 1222 and this came up-

File:Original coin and replica used as ornaments.jpg - Wikimedia Commons

Original Ottoman coin (left) and gold-coloured (brass) replica (right), both used as ornaments. (Additional comment: I've been informed that the silver-coloured coin is actually an imitation. Note the strange single dot Q in "Qostantiniyeh" and the apparent "1222" date instead of 1223.)
