Need a photo of the back. Something in the picture for scale would be nice as well. ;D

Those dimes look pretty good for scale to me Bio :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:

I was joking. There are enough things there to size anything and everything. Hard to see the tree for the forest. That's the reason for the ;D icon.

Looks like a daggureotype frame?

Maybe a frame for a hexagon Jewelry box, cosmetic case, niknak box - inlaid with wood, ceramic, or glass ????

Just throwing ideas out there. Could also just be a decorative bezel for a stove or other.

Something like this?

I couldn't figure out which item you were talking about until you posted the back. Looks like part of a frame for a once very popular miniature picture. Monty
