Hello Steve Welcome aboard!

I'm a bit jealous of all the history you folks have over there. No way I'll ever find things as old as you might over there.

Have you had the opportunity to search any of the old Roman settlements? UK has such a long and varied history it would be interesting to hunt.

Looking forward to seeing some of your posts in "Todays Finds"!

Yes I have permission to search on some lovely roman sites, had many trumpet brooches and roman coins etc. my love is the medieval period, I have been lucky to find 2 scattered hoards of Edward 1st pennies and my first hammered coin was an Edward III gold quarter noble!! Very lucky indeed. I have found the only recorded Saxon coin in Wales of Coenwulf which was a real rush when I found it (well my dog, a black Labrador retriever was just about to pee over it) haha

We got good history, but you got good beaches
