I see the similarity. mine is bullet shaped with the grooves carved or ? onto stone. Ill try to get better pic and post.
 

There is thousands of different types. I could be wrong but I do not belive that to be an artifact..but a fossil.

Well I do not think i can positively ID this one. My thought was that is was a firestarter. That would be the top piece to protect the palm from the friction of spinning the stick with the bow. I agree with Gator! It very much resembles a fossil, and it looks like a fossil urchin. I am not proficent at uploading photos from the net. Maybe someone could help.
 

It certainly does look like an urchin. At the same time, early peoples were known to use fossils as tools ... sometimes you just never know!
 

Well i have found other objects (indian) =granite with hole drilled through it, broken tips , axe or ? Ill get better pics of these objects too. Thanks for all the replys.
