While out with my detector earlier in the year I found these nuts. I don't which tree they might have fallen off of in the park. I planted them and they are growing beautifully. I plan to plant them in my yard later in the year. Please help in identifying the species. I live in Colorado.

Acorns, just plant them away from the house a little ways, otherwise could interfere with house foundation later. Also keep them away from your sewer line.

Oak trees do grow in Colorado. Here at the IBM plant in Boulder, there are about 8-10 oak trees and they produce acorns. I took some home and planted them about 6 months ago and they are growing just fine.
I live in Colorado also, in Platteville. I am surprised that Dano91 has not posted here, yet. He, too, lives in Platteville.
Good luck and HH.
