Apparently twice as Much as a Quarter of a Half cent. ;D

I got one of them, last year.

I figure maby you could get a Drunk on for a Penny back then & these people just wanted

a Night Cap :D

I have wondered the same thing. Figuring the value in todays dollars puts it in perspective. I found an 1858 half dollar here about 4 years ago. It made me wonder how much it was worth to the person who lost it. After converting it's value to todays currency I was shocked to see that the 50 cents in 1858 is the equivalent of $11.11 today. That's dropping a whole lot of money! I couldn't find anyway to calculate yours though.

I also found one it was a half of a large cent so dose that make it a large half cent ? dose this cut the value of the coin to 50% of the book value ? if you ask me its at least half as rare as the whole

If We dropped a $20.00 Bill today,

? We would be upset, but in most cases it's easily replacible.

Just go to the MAC.

Unfortunately a Person who has a Half of a Half cent, most likely had nothing else.

and most likely planned on using it for a Hunk of Bread or other Food.

so I can see where that person was probably very upset by the loss.

Nice Find, I too would think it would be worth at least half the value in the book. I mean how many cut in half half cents do you find?
