thursday my 11 year old daughter found a gold necklace with diamonds and a stone
stuck to the tread of her shoe.
Now they won't let it go that they didn't need a DFX to do it.

Walking around looking for stuff on the sidewalk and in the streets is the future of treasure hunting.

Metal detecting as a hobby is dying. The parks are depleted, the beaches are depleted, and the metal detecting clubs of America are embroiled in conflicts headed by men retired from former positions of esteem, and arguing for years over whether or not to issue the club newsletter in hard copy or internet download format to each member.

When you are walking around looking for treasure, nobody can lord anything over you, you are enjoying the good day, and you are master of all that you survey.

When you are showing your finds at the meeting of the metal detecting club, people are treacherously lobbying for their wheaties, and you will likely be disdained by a guy running the raffle ticket table while wearing a fishing vest and polarized sunglasses indoors, and with the butt of a Glock .40 caliber peeking out at his armpit.

All of that happened to my friend in Canada when he went to a meeting of the local club.

I was a treasure hunter before I bought my first detector and I always have an eye peeled for sidewalk finds .

You should start swinging that coil over the bottom of their shoes when they come in...



BTW.... I found a very cleanable Winchester pocket knife just under the grass today while tossing ball!
