Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
The other day I was at the field that gave me the 1/2 dime, I had this target that was so good that it was deep and maybe a jar of coins or just some pewter. It started to rain really hard so I thought I would mark the location, but the farmer had plowed the site so today I went back looking for this target, no luck. So I decided to go down the field to the other site that was a tavern I am 99% sure with the amount of coins I have found over the last 5 or so years. I found another 1859 Canadian cent, this makes it 14 or so, I am really amazed at how this small hill in the field can hide so much. I have detected it many times and it seems to hide some goodies on me every year for the next trip. Here are the finds I found today, the broach was bent out of shape, I almost tossed it away, I always keep any unusual finds, it was a little tricky to straiten it out. But any ways I will be heading out tomorrow morning to another site that has given up some old coins, unless it rains. Nt.

Where are you in Canada? If you are out west, your area is not that old, we have lots of some what early sites in this area. My area was settled in around 1818 or so. I find lots of the large cents, I have a new site that had two old home sites in the same field from around 1880s time period, there should be several older coins, maybe a bank token or two. I would look at the old township books from your area should be a good start. HH

What is the pink glass? I found the exact same thing last week at an old home site, and just kept it. Curious to know what it is.

That would be from a cake plate stand or something along that line. Here is another item that I am not sure of, it is hard, not bone, it is like rock, any idea?
