With warmer temps and the snow melting, it was time to go! I had hunted this early 1800's farm once before with very little luck. I decided to do the lane leading up to the fieldstone foundation. My first hit was half a horseshoe, the second was an entire shoe at about 5 inches. When my third hit sounded off I knew it was something good. A bell! Ding-a-ling!

A half hour of hunting.

The bell. It was about three inches deep.

A number nine. This find got me fired up. Lets dig!

Hi Rachel Welcome to TreasureNet.

What area in Illinois do you live? I used to live near Edwardsville and spent some time around Rantoul.

How did a southern girl end up in Yankee territory anyway?

Again Welcome and I look forward to your posts.

Happy Hunting
