Nothin' Beats Cash!!!
This post is for all of you frustrated TH'ers out there like me. I got the "bug" 2 1/2 years ago when I started reading everything I could get my hands on about treasure, metal detecting etc. A trend that continues into the present. Okay, I'm a "treasure junkie" now what can I say...? I got my first detector --- a 2-Box deep-seeker in July of '04 and I've taken it to two well-researched former pirate encampments by both canoe and kayak several times time since --- NO LUCK (but I ain't done yet)!
Four months ago, I got my first coin shooter --- a 'Bounty Hunter' Fast Tracker. I went balls out expense-wise on the first one, so I was a little more gun shy this time around. Admittedly, I haven't been out with it as much as most of you probably have, but I'd say over a half dozen outtings later my "finds" total is .63 cents in change and one busted snake trinket. Not to mention the dozens of beer tabs I've uncovered that always make me wish I had the beer that went with it.
My luck FINALLY started to turn yesterday Sunday 1/29 when I was driving back from getting my groceries. After buying a paper in my apartment complex's vending machine because Kash & Karry didn't have their's in yet, I made a stunning discovery driving back to my building in the parking lot of my complex. On the ground folded in half and spread out a little bit were some green backs! To my delight and amazement (and some poor b____d's dismay) I realized I was holding a $20, three $10's and two $1 for a grand total of $52!
I'm sure you've all seen what each of these bills looks like, so I didn't feel the need to scan and post them here.... Now, I'm pumped up and motivated more about treasure hunting again. So, after all that money tied up in equipment etc my story just proves the old treasure hunting adage: "Treasure is where you find it!" --- Here's to all the "little guys" out there like me....
Happy Hunting!
