To be honest, all of my notable cent finds have been in the last week or so. But I think I've really grown to enjoy hunting cents as much as I love hunting halves and dimes.

image-1444770211.jpg cud that I found earlier this year. I think this find is what really made my interest in cents jump.

image-1597184891.jpg 1900 Indian cent - my first Indian found metal detecting, second found overall, found about a month ago. Giving it the olive oil soak to loosen up the dirt, and I think it'll turn out pretty decent after a couple months. This was only my second notable metal detecting find in over a year of detecting, which is why I love roll hunting so much more!

image-1519004845.jpg 2000 wam - my first wam, and I found it last week! It was one of those finds where I had to rub my eyes to make sure I was seeing what I thought I was seeing.

image-2439242417.jpg 1893 Indian cent - first Indian found in a box of cents, third found overall, early this week, and it was an ender! It's in nice shape except for a notch in the rim. The rest of the box wasn't great.

image-2177598045.jpg 1890 Indian cent - second Indian found in a bag of cents, fourth found overall, just this morning.

image-209956050.jpg not sure what to make of this one I just found this morning as well. The reverse and rim look normal, but the obverse has just the faintest ghost of Lincoln. I'm going to take it to the LCS for an opinion, but I would love yours before I do that.

congrats on the WAM, I have a 98 and 00, still looking for the 99. last cent likely struck through greaseIMG_0857.JPGIMG_0859.JPGIMG_1074.JPGIMG_1073.JPG

Styffin, great find on the Indian ender. I have only found one Indian this year and it was very strange. Strange because it came out of a mwr of dimes! Normally this couldn't happen but for some reason the cent had wear around the rim and it was the same size as a dime.

Nice finds, what is a "wam" ? My untrained eyes do not see what is different about that cent? Thank you.[/QUOTE

WAM = wide A M. Refers to the bigger than normal space between the A and the M.

Mystery penny is a capped die- occurs when a penny sticks to one of the dies and the press keeps running, striking some coins with the uncovered die on one side and some with the covered die on the other. Good find
