Went to the beach early this a.m. Bought a headlamp so I could see in the dark. I like to get out early, so I don't have to answer the same questions from tourists. Started hunted the wet sand about 5 a.m. The headlamp works great and only weighs 3 oz.

Anyway after about 2 1/2 hrs I only got a little clad, bottle caps, couple tabs, and a pen. We had real bad weather the last couple days so I guess no one was on the beach and it was hunted out previous to that. Still looking for my first gold ring! HH :(

Nice collection of bottle caps ;D

What kind of machine are you using?

Is it a salt water beach?

Maybe we can help you increase your chances for that 1st gold ring if you tell us more about your machine, the enviornment, your settings on the machine, etc.

Lonewolf, it's a salt water beach just south of Ft. Lauderdale. I use a Minelab Quattro. Recently I've had it set on all metal, and usually skip over the bad trash, but have started pulling tabs, and foil cause I read from someone on the forum that sometimes they give off the same signal/reading as some gold.

Cool Pen, is that the Type that has SHREDDED MONEY in it ?

Or Two Ink Cartridges ?

Better luck next time... :(
Good Luck & Happy Hunting~
