The Bounty Hunter will do the job as it is a basic but good detector. BUT since your Tracker has a display with only a meter (TARGET INDICATOR), I suggest that you begin by putting some coins on the ground with about a foot distance between each coin and slowly go from coin to coin and see if the meter will give you different indicating numbers on the meter for each coin. If it does, you have a fighting chance 'cause then all you have to do is see what number the needle indicates when you are hunting and you get a good, repeatable signal.

If the meter doesn't do this and gives you only an intensity reading, the same number regardless of what coin you go over because they are all on the same level of ground, you have your work cut out for you. Not having your instruction manual (I hope you have one and if not download it from the BH website), here is how I would do your yard and other messy areas if I could. I would use the DISCRIMINATION knob to ignore everything up to and including the zinc cent. Since you have a NOTCH feature, I would use that to get nickels. If the NOTCH feature cannot be used this way once you've run up the DISC, then I would still run up the DISC to ignore everything up to and including the zinc cent and be satisfied with finding copper cents, dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars. Of course, silver dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars will be included. But you won't get nickels and/or gold jewelry. You'll get silver jewelry 'cause it's usually found up there with the coins, though not always.

What do you think?
