Here is one of three rocks found by my house. At the bottom of a tall peak. ( I can send photos of the place if needed) Two of the three a cracked with my hammer and exploded but this one i had cut after i hit it once (Not as hard). I'm looking for gold bearing rocks but found these. There is a place in a small village that cut and polished it for me. The cost was the other half. ( so free. hehe) He had some others on display but none for sale. Also he told me there are lots more here but not many people go looking for them. Snakes and scorpions make them scared to go looking. Also they is worried about bad guys in the mountains. (getting held up)

Any way can any one let me know the name ( English. haha) and if these are worth any thing?

P.S. the photo shows red but its more of a pink of different hues.

Thanks In advance...

Welcome Mexico and congrats for your bravery as well as your finds.

Quick answer is, these stones are at the least semi precious! Collect them quickly and in secret! Make your explorations quick and infrequent and as invisible as possible. If discovered and questioned, dump your stash, play the fool and slip away.

Best wishes, and Via Con Dios!

Thanks Phil, I have been here for 16 years now and im well armed. hehe I have no issues any were in mexico. I was from Detroit and love to shot back!! Any way there is a lot of cool rocks here and I know nothing about them, so I will keep posting. My main hobby is diving for stuff the vacationers lose in the Sea with my XPointer. ( so far its been fun and profitable)
