I found these today in a field, close together. Here’s my quandaries.
1st 2 pieces, upper left, 1st photo: extremely thin and what I believe are debitage/pressure flakes.
The next 2 pieces top right. They appear to be the same material, but look a lot like bird bones. I don’t normally find any heavy, snow white petrified bones. The bottom 3 pieces appear to be the same material, so I collected them too. Any ideas? I don’t feel the first 2 are pareidolia; I honestly feel they are flakes. Thanks in advance for any help.

The only similarity that I can see from those pics is they are all white. Maybe some are debitage. The bones do look like bones. I think one has a quartzi look to it. but you have the advantage with them in hand.

I appreciate the feedback. The “bones” seem especially dense and solid. That’s what throws me off. I’ve found my share of petrified bones, but never any that looked pure white.

Can you show the backside of the flakes? Definitely look good for flakes, could be more. The bones are certainly bone, as far as why they are different I don’t know, trying to think with the way they look maybe they have been in an animal like an owl pellet or a coyote or something?

Maybe going through an owl would change the bones. There are some fuzzy owl pellets along this area from time-to-time. I couldn’t get over how hard they were, yet not brittle at all.
Here’s the other side of the flakes.
I appreciate the in-put. I know these aren’t much compared to a lot of finds. I just wanted to learn a little more. Thanks

Those 2 pieces look like debitage to me. You are near Burlington flint outcrops along Mississippi River so white flint no surprise. Just coincidence bones also white. Flakes from farm field or creek bed?

Yep, flakes and bones. I thought one might be part of a biface but the flip side shows it's a reduction flake

You can flame test the bones to see if they are bones
