These measure 58" tip to tip.
From the top tip, it is 3" down to the first loop, the 2nd loop at 13", 3rd at 23" and the 4th at 32 inches. The spirals are 20 inches from the bottom tip. the spirals are blacken like they were in a fire.

I have seen stuff like that at the Army Heritage Museum in Carslile PA, they were part of a WW-I trench warfare display out on the grounds, they were used for stringing barbed wire.

Interesting, this is one of a group of 12 that were found, buried, east of Alexandria Louisiana.
