Greenie
I was hunting on my property in Fredericksburg today, and after successfully finding two .69 cal round balls within 10 yards of each other, I picked up this at roughly the same depth (4-6 inches) about 5 feet away from the second round ball.
For info purposes, this is the same object, just photographed at different angles. It is slightly bigger than a cheerio. It appears to be lead at the tip (purely based on weight of the item) and the two disks on the back appear to be copper (based on green corrosion). Maybe some type of civil war hardware? Not sure. The area has been a farm for hundreds of years and was a camp for a period of time during the war (winter of 1862). Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-G
