Hey everyone,

Sorry for the lousy pics but I was wondering if anyone can make out the bust on this Large Cent. I can see the outline of a bust facing right but the coin is in rough shape so any help at all would be appreciated. Basically I'm wondering if I found a Largie older than a Draped Bust. Thanks for looking, good luck and stay safe if you're on the east coast like me!

It's pretty toasted so I can't tell about the thickness but from what I can see I think you might be right about the Liberty Cap but I don't want to assume anything..If so it's my first. The soil I pulled it from is horrible on coppers, I've pulled wafer this wheaties there as well as the Walker half I posted which is heavily tarnished.

Interesting find ...congrats !

My first reaction seeing that is Irish George III old head. (Hibernia Halfpenny)

Looks more like a holed KGIII copper Halfpenny of some type, perhaps what IP has suggested. Better photos might help us in determining.

Shouldn't you be on the beach or in the dark right now? ;D As long as you don't have water up to your knees.

A couple of C4 guys want to go, I guess when we can get there we might go Tuesday or Wednesday. I have a day or so of debris cleanup and undoing all the preparations I did for the storm.

The coin is definitely a Large Cent, I got enough detail off the reverse to see parts of the words "One Cent" and bits of the wreath. Sorry again for the bad pics, I'm way overdue for a good digital camera. This coin is pretty far gone to boot so in any event thanks for the help everyone!
