Bottle guys, need help.

How old is this and what is it from? The metal piece and white piece were found together. It reads "Boyd's Genuine Porcelain Lined" Also, all the "N's" are backwards. I can't find much online about them. Did see one on ebay for $100

Yes, the zinc lid on an old time canning jar. The white glass was inside the lid, meant to keep the food away from the zinc.. The Ball canning jar was first used around the mid 1880's, and used into the 1930's and there was some use even up to 1950's, although it's not recommended to us those jars and lids for canning now, and they have been replaced by the two piece lid.
