I found a button today with two birds on a branch on the front and a backmark that says "new sporting design 1843". I guess dating it is easy but really was wondering if there was any way to find out who made it or what country it is from. I know allot of sportman buttons are from Britain. This button is fairly large, almost as big as a silver half. Here are a few pics next to the civil war bullet I also found.
