I saw somewhere else you are doing better now. Stay with it. It will get better!

My first couple of trips out with the Deus were not very good. It took a little time to learn the new sounds.

I have been using it for about 4 months now, and it works well for me. I hunt coins, which I think are easier than jewelry, because the numbers are more predictable, however, the Deus is a sound machine, don't worry too much about the numbers, if it sounds good... dig it.

GL&HH!

Honestly, I am a civil war relic hunter. I put mine in 2 tones and just dig anything that is over a high 30's. Any ground can screw up a tone. If the vdi jumps anywhere from 40;s to low 90's I still dig it. Sometimes its a tiny 22 shell sometimes its a small buck ball. I don't pass anything up. You never know

I sold my Deus. It was a good machine and I miss the lack of weight mostly. I just have too many machines and it was just so different than anything else. The main problem I had was it is a little fragile for my tastes and I had to do some configuring to get the most out of it. Configuring, I mean I had to buy a waterproof case and wear it around my neck and then get a headphone with a 1/8" plug and use the headphone adapter. I had to also get used to the sounds and not rely on the readings because it would sound off on a lot of iron and it was hard to see in the sunlight. I got where I was able to mostly distinguish junk from coins by the sound.

I will tell you this. If you learn the sounds and hit a place thoroughly it will leave nothing. With my CTX and Deus I can completely clean a site out in 2-3 hunts. No doubt.

I cant imagine learning detectors on ball fields and such. Been decades since I've done that. I think relic hunters that dig all signals on old sites in farm fields cut their learning curves on new detectors by at least half. They quickly find out the difference between targets and what they sound like at different depths. Hang in there.

we're doing much better starting to hear her when she talks …. its not just bla bla bla now like when my wife talks LOL LOL
