Hello guys,
I was hoping you could help me figure out what I found. I found it in the Mohave desert and I found quite a lot of it so I drove one to the labs in Reno and did a full rock analysis on one of the specimen.
Came up 90% SIo2 but also has 28 ppm cobalt and 2 ppm nickel.

It looks almost identical to the blast glass that is found near the border of Egypt...but I don't think possible...I attached some specimen pics for reference. Also I am out of money so if anyone wants one of them I am more then happy to sell. I will email the lab report in full to Anyone who wants to purchase. It has 1.2% H2O....

I could only open a picture on one link, which I don't like to really do and what I saw was a piece of what I come to know as chalcedony quartz agate. The picture hear is a sample that is found around Silver City New Mexico. I also have a piece of this mineral I found in Silver City in my flower garden I'll add later after the sun comes up. It ain't glass formed by some mysterious event imo.

Tamrock is on the right track. I have found similar in several places in the Mojave. I suggest you take your finds to a lapidary club (or two, or three). Ask them. If they have several members that collect their own material, someone should be able to help out. When I was last in Clark County, there were several lapidary clubs in the metro area.

Welcome LVH! Keep in mind that you need to be a Charter member to sell on Tnet. I 2nd bradyboy's request that you post the actual picture rather than a link.....especially for newbies. Too many bogus and dangerous sites out there to take the chance on opening attachments.

The Mojave has lots of different shape/colors of chalcedony. I get some every time I go. I even have some that has opalized (pretty) chalcedony-covered agates, chalcedony covered volcanic rock, and even chalcedony-covered quartz. The smooth or "bubbly" type is not unusual. I have also found several chalcedony "roses". I think you have some nice specimens of chalcedony.
