hello all....i dug this today rather deep in the ground. it was at the same site i dug a revolutionary war button. my detector says that it is mostly iron with some aluminum/tin. i hope its more significant than a mere machine part! ....thanks!!!

By the way I have some of the most fun "guessing" my own Notellin's. Especially since I know they are old.

What would they possibly use that for? Etc. But some Items have too many unknowns and other too many possible uses to ever be identified correctly, Now you can usually get into the ballpark like Farm equipment or wagon part. Happy Hunting!
