Hey gang of detectors,
Been hitting some of the tot lots that I've hit in the past; I believe that they have been hit by someone else in the meantime. Almost without exception I found evidence of unfilled holes, some with the trash laying right on the surface. Oh well, share the wealth. Just wish I didn't have to spend my time filling other peoples holes and picking up their trash.
Here's a picture of some of my found trinkets in the last two hunts.
The ID bracelet was an eyeball find as I was detecting around one of those little merry go rounds. I didn't really look at it until later; unfortunately its only costume jewelry. :P I met a fellow medal detectorist at one of the tot lots...he was digging in the soccer field. He advised me that I wouldn't find too much in the playground area as he'd been detecting there for quite a while. He was using a Whites, so was I. Shortly after talking to him I found two rings and about $1 in clad (from the playground area). Those stones are hard to detect, I had to slow my swing way down as I found myself going crazy with all the beeps!
The Goodyear Blimp...grounded.
The coin finds...not many but a few old nickels and a dime from Singapore...I must have dug a really deep hole for that one. LOL
So, kinda disappointed in the sparse finds, I headed home.
I will be back, school is already starting in some of the schools around here. And, with all the rain we are getting now, the ground is softening up and I'm going to start digging in the grass!
Good luck friends, and have a good time, no matter what equipment you are using. Remember what the Blue Jacket's Manual says: Penetration however slight is sufficient to complete the offense. Dig em up or pull them off the surface, its all free!
