A friend found this today. Looks like a harmonica reed but only 6 reeds. That made me think of a pitch pipe, until she pointed out that the reeds... the vibrating end of the reeds... all face the center. On a harmonica, they face the blowhole, and each reed pair has its own blowhole so that particular note can be selected. There doesn't seem to be any way to select a single note with this.
A pitch pipe of the kind I'm talking about. Could that reed work with something like this?
