I have never found an arrowhead and would love to learn a little about where to look. Does anyone know if they can be found around the Dallas area? Thanks so much
Well I am pretty much a newbie also but my advice I would first off check your local/state laws about artifact hunting. Then check like google maps in your area to look for creeks and rivers (if you creek walk make sure you get the land owners permission most are nice) they are (in my opinion) the best places to find Arrowheads unless you know a farmer who will let you walk his plowed field. The reason I say find out your local laws is I work with someone from Alabama and he says where he's from you can't even pick up a indian bead off the river without getting a fine if they catch you doing it!
It takes me a while to find stuff so be patient if nothing else you can call all the walking you do good exercise! ;D
Hope this is helpful.

Good advice off Demon. Welcome to Artifacts forum. Good Luck.

Molly.

Texas allows artifact hunting on private land for sure. You can even dig in Texas too.

I am sure there are artifacts in the Dallas area in fact I think they are found all over Texas.

Thanks, guys! I am on it!

There are artifacts in the Dallas area. There are a few point types named for communities in the area, such as Rockwall and Carrolton, Dallas...Theres also a cultural area called "Wiley Focus" etc. Now, you go a hundred miles east or so...and your in a heckuva area!! Good Luck and Welcome.
(I live in N.E. Texas myself)

As per JohnnyReb....................wylie Focus sites exist on both lakes Ray Hubbard and Lavon. Alot of Corp access on Lavon (walk in). Walk the shorelines where creeks run into the lake on the east side. Also northeast side Tickey creek bridge. Some Carrolton Focus material on the higher terraces.
