Today found me going South to meet up with Gunrunner again for a get together with one of his friends to sort of get to meet and get to know each other , Phil is a great guy . Once again we hunted on Gregs home turf in North Georgia . Thanks again , Greg !!! Started the day with a search for a wedding band tossed out of a moving car , with no luck . Went from there to a lot in town that looked pretty promising but was loaded with lots of iron , I ended up with what I think is a parasell do-hicky , top end .
From there we went a little further south to a place Greg has took me to 2 other times in as many weeks and the lead started popping up . This place is on the side of a RR track dating to the CW and also has had a block house on the site that we hunted today . Next time we go , I promise to take some site pics , I've had my camera every trip but forget to take pics untill on the way home.
I was really hoping for an old coin today , but these pesky lead pieces kept getting under my coil turned out to be a pretty good day for me on lead , found two flat base bullets that I haven;t found before and a strange , cut piece of lead that I think was the bottom of a Williams Cleaner , it is the flat round piece with the round spot in the middle .
I think the find of the day for me is the copper or brass ring . On the inside of the band it is inscribed" L Faith " . I like to think it is period with my other finds from this site which is CW era , Who knows , Will try to get a good photo of it tomorrow in natural light . Thanks for looking and HH !!!
