I had the pleasure to pan for gold at Cottonpatch Gold Mine in New London NC over Thanksgiving. I came out with about 2 grams worth of pickers and one "nugget" that weighed just under 1 gram.

I highly recommend this place as the staff are friendly and so are the locals.
