North Carolina coast

Currituck and Corolla have the most non-detected area for pirate/survivor loot buried. Especially around the Great Dismal Swamp. The closest maritime museum is the NC Maritime Museum in Beaufort and/or the Mariner's Museum in Newport News, VA.

What a buddy! :laughing7:
Didn't Blackbeard have a hidey hole somewhere?

Good lord old friend/enemy (in the political forums) = Really glad to see you back here posting, period! My friend, ya got things to tell us :)

Well I ended up at Kure Beach on the south end of Cape Fear. Nice quiet clean beach and next to Fort Fisher, the last Confederate coast battery fort to fall to the Union, and later, a WW2 USAF/Navy bombardier school. Not much of it’s left but their pride is a massive (in its time) English Armstrong gun that was loaned to the South to attack the Union shipping blockade parked off the Wilmington coast. They only fired it a dozen or so times because our southern boys had difficulty manufacturing the 150lb artillery shells.

Saw a couple metal-detecting the beach early morning but that was as close as I got to pirate treasure. Next time !

PS. Thanks to Darren for the suggestions
