So a full tones ?
When i used to make programs and change freq it would mess up the notching and vdi and had to make programs for each freq. Now i am using full tones would Norm ID work so when I change freq the VDI stays the same? Also does tone from a penny in freq 8 sound like a penny in freq 11 and so on in Norm ID does the tone stay the same as well?

I don't know but would like to as I have recently started to use full tones

If you are coin hunting why would you be changing frequencies enough for it to be an issue? It seems most settle on a preferred frequency and stick with it. Lower frequencies hit harder on silver with a larger spread in VDI numbers so what is the advantage of going higher?

Setting notches and tones (5 tones) for several frequencies does not take that long anyway IMO.

I primarily hunt in 8 kHz, with the use of 4kHz to weed out caps and other suspicious junk. Both work well for coin hunting.

If you are using your ears alone in Full tones it seems you will be digging a lot of higher tones not matter what exact sound you get in any particular frequency.

at 11 or 18 hits gold harder and small chains. also higher u go V and sheild and IDs pop.. I sniffed out all my goodies using 4 and 8 re working the area @ higher freqs

I created a video to illustrate the differences in audio tones (there are no differences) and VDI when switching between ID Norm on/off. The user manual states on page 27:

"ID NORM (Standardization of the targets ID)Let users know that the 18 KHz frequency target ID value is the one that is used to normalise the target ID values in the other frequencies."

There is no mention that audio tones are normalized, and that appears to be the case as indicated in the video: https://youtu.be/Ckl4W16Td_I

Use the time links in the youtube video description to quickly compare audio tones between freqs with ID Norm on and off.
