Incredible find! My bud, Sentinel, found one last year down there... Just awesome :headbang: that thing is a banner find :thumbsup:
 

I love the academy buttons. One of my dreams to find one before I die.

Thanks for the banner mention. From what I've heard and read the Norfolk Military Academy button is one of the more elusive civil war era buttons. Thank again for looking.

Thats true because of the relatively small amount of cadets that ever wore them, but certainly doesn't take away from the rarity or historic awesomeness. :laughing7:

Button depicts a building, and is attributed to Norfolk Military Academy, Norfolk Virginia. Originally Norfolk Academy, the school was renamed and the impressive building shown was constructed in the 1840's. Backmark: "R & W. ROBINSON / (star) EXTRA (star)", dm, two inner solid rings, ca 1840's to 1850's, (RobinsonRW09). Two part convex button, school coat or vest size.

That is a great button find ! I think I have only ever seen 2 others posted in the last 4 years ! The two center looks in good shape as well ! Nice finds ! M.R.
