Well Folks, I've been in a bit of a slump lately and not finding much of anything. Been pounding my normal spots and coming up empty handed. :( Just when I was about to sell my detectors for some fur lined undies and a Barry Manilow CD, I finally hit on a few keepers today. It was tough weaving in between the small pine saplings, and digging in the briars, but I had to do it.
I first dug a cuff button, then a wheat (1945), then a twisted up buckle (?), and finally on the way back to my truck I got an iffy signal under some briars. It turned out to be an Eagle coat button. Unfortunately the back is missing the shank, but it still has some nice gold on it.
The rest of the things pictured I've been throwing in my pouch over the last few hunts.
Not sure what the metal piece is that needs electrolysis?

Thanks for looking,
MM

I finally got the monkey off my back today. I had no idea the eagle button had gold gilt still on it when I called you today. I used the aluminum jelly on it.
Thanks Dude,
Dug

Dawg,
O.K. maybe not the Barry Manilow CD. :laughing9: I went down by that mill a few days ago and that's where I dug most of that modern bullet lead. Nothing old except a square nail. :dontknow:
There has to be something around there.

Great looking finds Doug! Great to see you didn't have to sell your machine and equipment for the Fir lined undies bro :laughing7: The Buckle looks older. Like a Ladies sash perhaps. Great digs buddy

Glad you didn't have to buy that Barry Manilow CD. If it were Neil Diamond, we'd have to kick you off the forum. :D

That button with nice gilding will look good in a display case regardless of the back. I need another good button find. Reading this post has me stoked up!

Nice gilt on that eagle, those are some nice finds. Not sure if that's a buckle...maybe it's a printing plate..lol (sorry, had to say it) ::) Keep hitting those bushes and briars. HH!

Thanks Mike.
Well then sash it is. I'll see if I can heat it up and unbend it. A few hours in those fur lined undies would have made it plenty warm. :tongue3: :laughing9:

Thanks Glenn. I guess I'll have to settle on being a button magnet instead of a chick magnet. :laughing9:

Thanks JB. You calling me "special" means a lot.
I do better at finding buttons than I do at coins. I repel old coins I think? :icon_scratch:
Have a great weekend,
