Hey all
Been interested in treasure hunting since forever, back in the late 80s I would buy a couple of magazines (I think Treasure Hunter and another with similar title) and read them for the stories. Paid no attention at all to detectors. Fast forward several years and my bf, Metal Junkie, talked me into agreeing to try metal detecting. We bought EuroAces and began. Now he's rockin an AT Pro. I put only about 50-100 hrs on the EuroAce before stashing it in the utility room.
MJ wants to sell the EuroAces and get me an AT Pro so he can teach me how to use it, as he's been finding all kinds of cool stuff. But he's probably logged a good 500+ hours on it already, and I already have one fairly expensive hobby, so am a bit reluctant to fork out $$ on a hobby that can be as frustrating as metal detecting. When I do detect I find mostly iron items, hence the username! If there's an old nail, aluminum crisper drawer, car muffler, oil tank, nuts, bolts, fishing lures and weights, pennies, pulltabs, bottlecaps or foil around, I'll find it. The best thing I've found so far is an 1844 half-penny on my property.
Hoping to hear from other women here, especially those who have only one detector as opposed to a half-dozen high end ones!
