non-magnetic rock??

Hi everyone,

Today I was metal detecting in a park and got a hit on this rock. On my Fisher F2 is reads 82-83. It is not magnetic however, any ideas?



There seems to be silver colored patches in the rock.

You living in Kansas it may have a trace of Galana.But there are rocks that we call hot rocks.They will drive you nuts and welcome to Tnet

Indeed! lead, zinc & cadmium metals had been mined in Kansas, some ores even had trace amounts of silver neither are magnetic. KGS Pub. Inf. Circ. 17--Part 1 of 3
