Great signal in middle of a harvested field. 15/16” long. When found, and covered with clay, It resembled a cuff link. It seems to be die cast, possibly lead or a non-ferrous alloy. It has been slightly twisted, from my perspective. It sounds goofy, but it reminds me of a brake or clutch pedal that could be on a toy vehicle.
Any help appreciated.

After studying it for a while, it looks like a thumb button type latch release. Probably spring loaded, like on a storm window. (?)
