very nice, good to see you still out finding

how do you deal with the hot rocks that read 3-5. the signal sounds identical to a target, but there are zillions of them, checking each one would take forever. i did find a picker today after work, with the detector, but all i had to do is look down and pick it up. 8-)

Those sure are nice pictures!

If you don't mind, are you experiencing any problems with your machines?

All the best,

Lanny

these are turkis made :)

normally in turkey you cant find anything with these detectors.very less people prefer these products :)

its intresting that we buy american and australiian detectors here and you buy turkish detectors :))

Each location has a different level of difficulty regarding hot rocks.

The tracking mode, kind of helps with this type of situation...you will get a signal that goes away or is not repeatable.
A deeper target may initially read 03-05, and quickly increase to a higher reading by simply scraping the surface off and re-checking. If it sounds like a strong shallow target, it's probably hot rock or mineralization.
If it's a broader, mellow sound - it may be a deeper target that needs checked.

For very difficult areas, you may have to switch to DISC mode to eliminate the hot rocks.

So the Makro racer 2 is out performing the others?

Grumpie, I don't think you could draw any conclusions like that without extensive testing. It's so difficult to find an area that has detectable nuggets, and the concentration of gold varies indefinitely.

It does appear that the Racer 2 is working out to be a good gold machine. Those are all pretty flat pieces...I wonder if they were all laying flat or if some were wedged sideways into bedrock?
I'll be interested to see if the Impact scores any small gold.

Beekbuster, some places are plaqued with thousands of mineralized rocks or hotspots in the soil. if it is too difficult for all metal, then you might have to use disc2. and make sure id filter is 5 or above for those 0-4 hotrocks. you get a lot at the high end too. good thing about the mak2 detector is I can eliminate the low end and high end hot rocks. Mak2 is a very good gold detector aswell as the gold racer. ive ran both for a long time. the Mak2 is just a little weaker on the tiny stuff. but it is only 14khz. not 56 like goldmak. I think mak2 is best suited with the 10 x 5 coil for gold. not the stock 11 x 7. with both detectors the 10 x 5 coil will find gold as small as the 5" round. they both will almost find golddust. the 5" hits a little harder. but the 10 x 5 coils will get it aswell and cover more ground. the impact detector shouldn't be any better for gold then any of the previous detectors. a lot of new detectors coming out in the future that will probably get gold alittle better then modern ones. good luck

Is there a noticable difference between the makgold and mak2 in heavy mineralized soil or Lot's of hot rocks?
I'm talking about how stable the machines operate

with the fors+ the high end hot rocks make a very distinct boing, easy to id by sound, but the low end sound like lead or gold. i think gold and lead sound exactly the same.i would think a gram nugget at 3 inches would sound like a 22 slug. am i wrong? i have only found small gold so its a very soft signal and i know the odds are good.

I have found no difference between lead and gold as far as sound goes...sometimes it seems like the target ID's are different (especially if they are copper plated), but you have to dig em all.
