NOAA searching for Navy's first Submarine (1863)
Thought everyone might find this new search interesting. The NOAA is searching for the Navy's first submarine which sank in The Ocracoke area of NC in 1863 while being towed from VA to Charleston SC. From what I gather in this news story there are around 30 possible search sites they have accumulated through research.
I sure would like to follow them around the ocean. I'm sure they will uncover many valuable sites and finds on this mission, even if they don't recover the sub.
